Kate shared this idea with me–the 501 [i.e. non profit] Tech Club. If any of you are looking to move after graduation, and you like the work you are doing right now, you should look for a 501 Tech Club in the Cities, Denver, Chicago and other places our grads tend to go.

Of course what we really should do is start our own Fargo 501 Tech Club. If anyone is interested, perhaps we can could get one up and running after the semester is over.

On a related notes, I was talking to a professional writer (NDSU University Relations) about this class and careers for graduates, and she said she knows a few people who have been able to convince companies to hire them as the social media experts. That, of course, is exactly what I am trying to prepare you for with this unit: how to assess, then strategize, then “sell” your services to a local org. I hope the class pays off for some, if not all, of you!
